Clerk of Presbytery

The Clerk of Presbytery, Rev. Joseph Kofi Antwi (PhD) assumed office as Clerk of Presbytery on 1st September, 2020 after being elected during the 4th Presbytery Session. He succeeded Rev. Philip Nii Annan-Nai. 
Rev. Dr. Joseph Kofi Antwi, was born in Koforidua in the Eastern Region on 26th Dec. 1969, to Opanin Emmanuel Kwabena Antwi and Madam Elizabeth Ama Tweneboah Antwi, all from Obo-Kwahu, in the Obo District in the Kwahu Presbytery, both of blessed memory. He was Baptized and Confirmed at Ascension Congregation, Koforidua in the Akuapem Presbytery.

Rev. Dr. Joseph Kofi Antwi, attended Koforidua Presby Primary; Koforidua Presby Middle School up to Form1; Koforidua Junior Secondary School, Koforidua; Koforidua Secondary Technical School (Sectech), Ghana Secondary School (Ghanass), Koforidua; then to the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI), Accra. After completing Trinity Theological Seminary in 2005 was Commissioned at the Church of Resurrection, Accra in 2005. He was later Ordained, after his two-year probationary training, at the Victory Congregation, Fafraha in 2007.

He completed GCE O-Level at Koforidua Secondary Technical School in Koforidua in 1988 and later obtained GCE A-Level in 1991 from Ghana Secondary School, Koforidua, Ghana. Rev. Dr. Kofi Antwi holds HND in Television Sound Production from the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI), Accra, Ghana and Bachelor of Divinity (B.D.) in Theology, Trinity Theological Seminary, Legon, Ghana.

He later obtained Certificate and Advance Certificate in Public Relations in 2005 and 2006 respectively from the Ghana Institute of Journalism, Accra, Ghana. He pursued further studies at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana from 2009 to 2011 and obtained M.Phil in Religious Studies. He later graduated with Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana in 2018. 

Rev. Dr. Kofi Antwi was appointed the first Public Relations Officer at the Presbyterian University College, Ghana (PUCG) in 2013. He served in that capacity till he was appointed Acting Head of Department (HoD) for the Centre for the Promotion of Life Values (CPLV) from 2016 to 2018 where he resigned from the University and returned to full time ministry. He had earlier served as Assistant Registrar and Acting Chaplain at PUCG from 2015 to 2016.

As a Scholar his Research interests are in the areas of; African Indigenous Knowledge Systems (AIKS); African Traditional Religion; Environmental Ethics; Religion and Media; Communication for Development; and Christian Education.
